This piece was one of our favourites! I'm not sure if this is a permanent Installation that lives inside of Toronto's City Hall & I hope one of you can let me know. People couldn't help themselves, everyone wanted to touch and interact with it. More to come in a few!
Nathan Phillips Square was the perfect backdrop for Boris Achour's piece "The Rose is Without Why".
Just the thought of seeing an Ai Weiwei piece was enough motivation for us to drive 5 hours to Toronto & it was so worth it!
For all the young artists who are thinking about painting realistic flowers with a modern aesthetic, this is how you do it. James Lahey's mixed media paintings are stretched on a 40" x 40" canvas & they are absolutely stunning.
Today Galerie St-Laurent + Hill will be the host of Leslie Reid's Reception & Book Launch. She was also a participant at Nuit Blanche Ottawa Gatineau. I'm really excited to see her work especially since I wasn't able to see her video installation last Saturday. If you can't make it tonight her work will be up until October 9.
The Ottawa School of Art was one of the most popular visits on Saturday night–at one point they had a 10 min. wait just to take the stairs!
On each floor they had something different to offer; whether you felt like joining a comic jam, painting a large mural, or just wandering through a beautiful video installation and becoming a part of the art. Oh, and lets not forget the cool fiber art piece on the main floor!
