This series reminded me of the first time I went to the local beach off the shore of Kingston when I moved back to Jamaica a few years ago. It was my favourite spot when I was a teen, so I was super excited to go back to see if my favourite tree was still there. Instead of finding my tree I came across mountains of plastic containers on the shore and it literally tears to my eyes. So needless to say I felt a strong connection to this series by Alejandro DurĂ¡n who's work examines the fraught intersections of man and nature. Alehandro particularly focuses on the tension between the natural world and an increasingly overdeveloped one.
