I pretty much knew I wanted to be an artist since I was ten years old and every decision I've made in my life has been towards that. I must say that my family has always been pretty supportive of my decision. But I know there are many of you out there who don't have that core support and I know a little encouragement can go a long way.

A few months ago an old family member ( who I'm not very close with) called me asking me to speak to a teenager who wanted to go into textile design. The first this he said was 'I don't know how she's going to make any money from that'. Needless to say, I was immediately irritated! so many people go to medical and law school leave with a huge student loans with no possible job in sight. Somehow when a young person says I want to go to art school they are wasting their time & money. So the first thing I send to him was, do you realized that the sheets you slept on, your shower curtain, socks, underwear AND your clothes was designed by an artist?  Everything we touch in our lives on a daily basis was once a dream in someones head. Artist affects our everyday lives way more than we realize. Just imagine life without art? We all serve a purpose and no one is more important than the other, so if you have been suppressing your inner artist maybe it's like to let it out.

So for those of you out there who have always wanted to be an artist but never felt like you could just remember this NOW is the best time to be an artist and there's room for all of us.

Happy Monday!
