A few months ago my friend Manon Labrosse asked me if was interested in attending a fashion show showcasing local artist in collaboration with Print All Over me at Axeneo 7 I yes immediately. Little did I know how cool the building is and how amazing the event would be! I couldn't believe that I didn't know about this really cool artsy spot! The show consisted of over 15 Ottawa - Gatineau based artist it was so refreshing couldn't put my camera down! I took so many pictures, I will create a two-part blog post.

Above is the work of Caroline Monnet, Etienne Gelinas & Amd. I particularly loved how the black & white patterns translated on their garments. All the clothing will be for sale at Axeneo 7 for the next few weeks if you're interested in checking them out.

CHRISTIAN HEIKOOP

First of all I need to start out by saying that there is nothing about this series by Christian Heikoop that I do not love. The title of this project is called Normcore it is the designers study of a phenomena and its future perspective. Christian followed three basic principles raggedness, anonymity and all in one.

“Raggedness: normcores value seclusion making body observance impossible for others.
Anonymity: normcores like to keep to themselves and dress inconspicuous, therefore very private.
All-in-one: normcores don’t like to distinguish themselves by making a choice; reducing the amount of options.”

RYAN ROCHE

Now that it's not -20 outdoors anymore and most of us up here are just sick of all the heavy winter coats! but Canadian spring days are very unpredictable even if your an avid weather watcher, it has made me embraced the concept of layering. I just love this new collection by Ryan Roche and the way she plays with tone on tone textures! She does it so well I want every piece.

OAK AND FORT

I was in a fabric store last week and I started up a conversation with another customer who had nothing but good things to say about this Vancouver based company by the name of Oak and Fort. For the past few years I haven't been enthusiastic about clothes shopping cause nothing seems to fit right. When she said they are bringing back the atelier culture back to the local level, I was over the moon. Check out some of my favourite pieces. Don't forget to get yourself something for the holidays too ;)

UNDONE

I discovered this website a few days ago and fell in love with the simplicity of their products. I particularly that boxer brief under ware and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Undone is based in Toronto. Finding well made, comfortable & stylish clothes and undergarment close to home is the best! Let's just say that I've put them on my Christmas list.

I just love their Company philosophy

Undone began with the idea that simple, high quality underwear and basics should be available all in one place. We love soft fabrics, perfect cuts, and the kind of clothes you wear every day and can’t live without. The labels we work with take a thoughtful and progressive approach to design and construction: production is smaller-scale and sustainable, and each piece is made to be worn season after season. We’re inspired by independent thinking and an aesthetic that responds to the way we live.

I recently came across Azede Jean-Pierre's work on instaram and I instantly fell in love and as per usual I began digging or should I say clicking. Azede is a young womenswear designer based in New York City. She honed in her skills at Ralph Rucci and Ohne Titel before launching her name sake label in 2012.

In just two short years Azede has dress some of the most stylish people on the planet like Solange Knowles, Lady GAGA and even Michelle Obama! Azede will be a house hold name before you know it.

MOSAERT

Capsule n°2 is an Interesting concept by Mosaert

Mosaert's capsule 2 consists of cardigans, pull, polos and socks designed and produced in limited quantities in Europe. It is characterized by a mixture of the meeting of the "English school" cuts, the checker and isometric patterns and the warm colours of the African wax.
